British-born Campbell won a number of medals at the World and European Junior Championships. He formed part of Britain's most successful 4×100 m relay team and between 1997 and 2000 won two World Championship medals, a gold medal (1998 Commonwealth Games), and became the European record holder in the relay event with 37.73 seconds. He won silver in the 200m sprint at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. In 2004, at the Athens Olympics, he won gold in the men's 4x100m relay with team mates Marlon Devonish, Jason Gardener and Mark Lewis-Francis. Won his last relay gold at the European Championships, retiring shortly after in 2006.
