Danish comedian, actress, writer and broadcaster Sandi Toksvig has written plays and musicals for the theatre, published several novels and travel titles and many children's books. Educated at Girton College, Cambridge, she joined the Footlights and performed in its first all-woman show. She went on to become one of the Comedy Store Players. In 2014 she was awarded an OBE for services to Broadcasting. A frequent contributor to BBC Radio 4 comedy shows, she left her job presenting The News Quiz in 2015 to co-found the Women's Equality Party. In 2016 she became the host of the BBC TV panel quiz QI and the following year began co-presenting Channel 4's The Great British Bake-Off with Noel Fielding.
