Lucas came to prominence in the 1990s working with Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer appearing on Shooting Stars as giant baby George Dawes. In 1999 Lucas first collaborated with David Walliams and together they wrote and co-starred in the successful radio and television series Little Britain (2001-6 ) as memorable characters including Lucas's Vicky Pollard and Andy Pipkin. Lucas appeared on stage as Leigh Bowery in Boy George's musical Taboo (2002) and in films including Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland (2010). He appeared with Walliams in Come Fly With Me and worked on BBC series The Matt Lucas Awards (2012-13).
