Rosie Begarnie was my great aunt (a sister of my father's mother). She was born in 1881 (estimated date) in Middlesex St Giles according to the 1911 Census. Another source (a family tree compiled by my cousin) states she was born Rosina Emily in 1878. The FreeBMD site lists her as being born on 24th August 1878. She is listed as Rosina Montefiore in the 1911 census being by then married to Thomas Montefiore, a theatrical manager who was born in 1866 (estimated date) in Charmouth, Dorsetshire. They had a daughter, Angelica Rosaline Montefiore born 1907 and a son, Thomas Cecil Montefiore born in 1910. The family lived in Kensington. She died in March 1978 aged 99. She appeared in The Blue Moon produced by Mr Robert Courtneige at the Lyric Theatre in the part of Miss Lovelhill. She appeared as Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream produced by Mr Robert Courtneige at the Prince's Theatre Manchester on 7th September 1901. She appeared in The Pearl Girl at the Grand Theatre, Swansea on the 21st February 1914. Also she appeared as Kathleen in Our Miss Gibbs, (a Musical Play in 2 Acts by "Cryptos". Constructed by James F. Tanner. Lyrics by Adrian Ross and Percy Greenbank. Music by Ivan Caryll and Lionel Monckton. Produced by Mr. GEORGE EDWARDES.). She appears on page 15 of the Stage Year Book 1911 London.
