Dorothy was a pupil of Leeds Girls High School and came up to Girton to read Natural Sciences 1913-17. She was a Lawrence Research Student at the Royal Society 1916-18 and at the same time worked in the Trench Warfare Department, Ministry of Munitions. She went on to a post as Assistant Demonstrator in the Department of Physiology, University of Leeds 1918-19. Throughout her life she was a member of committees, most concerning education, child welfare, and housing - including the Council of Bedford College for Women, the Board of Management of Marie Curie Hospital, and the Council of the Royal Medical Benevolent Fund Guild. She received the M.B.E. She is buried with her husband Charles McMoran WILSON (1st LORD MORAN) at Newton Valence in Hampshire.
