Philip Hall

05 August 2018, 20:49

He is my great grandfather. He was a fellow of the Royal Society, a field geologist, and you can find more biographical data about him there. https://youtu.be/UFcKEcyWhGQ. He opens the BBC's documentary The Earth Story, where he is mistakenly called Alan Hall. This mistake was later clarified. He is presented on the programme as one of the first field geologists who guessed accurately at the age of the Earth.
