William Bradley (Jr), 1839-1903. Son of William Bradley, portrait painter (1801-1857) and Eliza Bradley (1816-1900) (nee Calvert, daughter of Charles Calvert, painter). Bradley sold photographs of Prince Alfred at his studio (140 Pitt St Sydney NSW) in the late 1860s...Prince Alfred visited Sydney in 1868. Young William migrated to Sydney in 1857, after the death of his father. His mother, sister Blanche (artist) and step-father Oscar Allen, photographer, followed him in 1863. William returned to England in 1869 and continued his photographic work. William won prizes in NSW for his photography, while working for Edwin Dalton, who had a large studio in Sydney. Between 1858 and 1864, William took all photographs at the Dalton studio, although Dalton took credit for them.
