John Giddings Milner (1900-1985) was trained at St Bartholomew's Hospital and Moorfields Hospital, where in 1936 he was appointed in the ophthalmic branch. In World War II he served in the RAF, becoming a Wing Commander. After the war he returned to medicine at Charing Cross Hospital.
