Gina McKee

Born in Peterlee, County Durham, McKee studied acting informally, including spending summers with the National Youth Theatre, London from 1979-81. Following early supporting roles in television series including Auf Wiedersehen Pet (1986) and Inspector Morse (1987), McKee came to national attention with her award-winning role as Mary Soulsby in the BBC drama Our Friends in the North (1996). Other important roles include those in the films Notting Hill (1999) and In the Loop (2009); and stage performances in Harold Pinter's Old Times (2004), Chekov's Ivanov (2008) and Shakespeare's King Lear (2010).
