Dobriskey began running competitively as a teenager. In 2006 she won a gold medal in the 1500m at the Commonwealth Games. She came fourth in the same event in Beijing 2008 and won a silver medal at the 2009 World Championships. Following her recovery from injury Dobriskey competed at the 2012 London Olympic Games.
