Rebecca Adlington
(1989-), Swimmer; OlympianSitter in 1 portrait
Rebecca Adlington's success in the 400m and 800m freestyle events in Beijing 2008 made her the first British swimmer to win multiple gold medals at a single Olympic Games for a hundred years. Adlington won double gold at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and gold at the 2011 World Championship. At the London 2012 Olympic Games Adlington won bronze in both events but retained the record she broke in 2008 for the Women's 800m freestyle.
