Andy Triggs Hodge, a former Oxford Blue, first rowed together with Peter Reed in the 2005 University Boat Race. Coached by Jürgen Grobler they won Olympic gold in 2008 in the men's four with Steve Williams and Tom James. In 2009 they teamed up as a pair and won silver medals at the 2009, 2010 and 2011 World Championships. They joined Tom James and Alex Gregory in the men's four at the London 2012 Olympic Games to win gold.
