In 2010 Aaron became the first British man to be ranked world number one in taekwondo (under 80kg category). He took up the sport aged five, progressing to senior level in 2007 and became British champion, a title he continues to retain. Aaron reached the semi-finals at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, narrowly missing a medal and became European Champion (2010, 2012). Following a controversial selection decision by GB Taekwondo Cook did not compete at London 2012.
