Yamilé Aldama
(1972-), Triple jumper; OlympianSitter in 1 portrait
Aldama was born in Havana, Cuba. She has won medals for Cuba, Sudan and Great Britain. In 2012 she won gold in the triple jump at the World Indoor Championships in Istanbul. Aldama competed at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, the 2004 Athens Olympics and the 2012 London Olympics. At the British Athletics Writers' Association awards in October 2012, Aldama collected the BAWA's 2012 Inspiration award. She finished third behind winner Jessica Ennis and Christine Ohuruogu in the placings for "British Athlete of the Year".
