Tom Aggar

(1984-), Rower; Paralympian

Sitter in 1 portrait
Tom Aggar is the reigning Paralympic and World Champion and holds the world record in the arms and shoulders single scull boat class. Formerly a talented rugby player, Aggar took up rowing as part of his rehabilitation after an accident left him paralysed from the waist down. In 2008 he won gold in his second year of competitive rowing when the sport was included for the first time in the Paralympic Games. Aggar was the International Rowing Federation's first 'Adaptive Rower of the Year' in 2010. He competed at the London 2012 Paralympic Games. 'Since joining our sport field in 2007 he remains unbeaten.' David Tanner, Performance Director, GB Rowing Team, 2012.
