(1955-), Actor and writerRowan Sebastian Atkinson
Sitter in 4 portraits
Newcastle-born Atkinson wrote and performed in comedy revues as a student and came to prominence with the award-winning television satirical comedy series Not the Nine O'Clock News (1980). Starring roles such as the fast-thinking, fast-talking Blackadder (1983-9) and the almost silent, bumbling Mr Bean (1990-5) reveal the range of Atkinson's talent. Film appearances include Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994), Love Actually (2003), Mr Bean's Holiday (2007) and Johnny English Reborn (2011), a sequel to Atkinson's parody of the James Bond genre.
