At the age of 21 S.H. had a child ( George Keylock Rusden) with the English privateer Captain Keylock Rusden. Keylock died when his son was 18 months old, and S.H. then married Francis Waldron. They raised G.K.R who attended Merchants Taylor school and the University of Cambridge before marrying Ann Townsend and running a school teaching Eastern languages at Leith Hill Place in Surrey.
