Sir Reginald Claude Rootes (1896-1977), was the founder with his brother William Rootes of the Rootes Group.
1896 Born on the 20th October at Goudhurst, Kent the son of William Rootes, cycle and motor engineer.
1946 Reginald Rootes was knighted for his work setting up shadow factories.
1945-46 President of the SMMT.
1977 Died aged 81 years.
