French born wife of Jorge Lewinski. She took up photography in 1970, winning a major Ilford photographic prize in 1972. Magnus became a fellow of the Royal Photographic Society in 1973. She had a one-woman show at F.N.A.C., Paris in 1974. The National Portrait Gallery held an exhibition of her photographs of eminent British women in 1977 entitled Women and Magnus had work included in Women's Images of Men in 1981 at the ICA, London. She has collaborated with her husband Jorge Lewinski in a series of photographically illustrated books.
