I have a framed print like the one in the NPG , which looks as it it is original. He is offering his music to King James 11. From Bohemia, he left England in disgust when he was last in a competition, 'Prize Musick'. He thought he would be 'judged by men, not boys.' An important composer from the age of Purcell, more interest in him is shown now, with more research and performances and CD's made.
