Victoria Beckham (née Adams)

Sitter in 6 portraits
Victoria Adams grew up in Hertfordshire and first rose to fame as a member of the Spice Girls, the most successful mainstream female pop band of the 1990s and the fastest selling new act since the Beatles. Their debut single Wannabe (1996) topped the charts in 53 countries and was the first of six consecutive British number ones. With names invented by Top of the Pops magazine, 'Scary', 'Ginger', 'Baby', 'Posh' and 'Sporty Spice' rode on a triumphant slogan of 'Girl Power' and heralded the empowerment of women in pop. Since her marriage to footballer David Beckham in 1999, Victoria Beckham has pursued a variety of solo projects including her own fashion label.
