Sally Gunnell

(1966-), Hurdler; Olympian

Sitter in 2 portraits
Britain's highest achieving sportswoman of the 1990s. At the 1992 Barcelona Games, she won a gold medal for the 400 metres hurdles, and bronze as part of the 4 x 400 metres relay team. In 1994, Gunnell became the only athlete to simultaneously hold the World, European, Commonwealth and Olympic 400 metres hurdles titles. After retiring from athletics in 1997 she became a BBC sports presenter.
