I believe he was a distant relative married to Madame Aslhey Cooper, who was my mother's aunt. He was reputedly a manager at Theatre Royal Drury Lane.I was also told that she was an opera singer. We have a signed photograph inscribed "To Darling Jeffy from her Uncle WB"and another of Mdme Ashley-Cooper obviously taken at the same time by the professional photographer William Hayward.
My mother stayed with them for a short while at a hotel. They previously lived at 3, Roehampton Lane, Putney SW15 around 1929
