Well-known for his deliberately high-camp style, Clary began his career as a comedian in the alternative comedy scene of the early 1980s. He has starred or taken part in television shows, including Sticky Moments with Julian Clary (1989), All Rise for Julian Clary (1996), The All Star Talent Show (2006), Have I Got News for You and QI. Live performances include touring his own show and playing the MC in an award-winning production of Cabaret. He is a regular panellist on Radio 4's Just a Minute and has written several books.
