I have a war time photo of Cyril Holness, it is of about 300 firemen that were trained to go over on or around d-day to help fight fires (i think). It was taken outside Dreamland in Kent.

Cyril Holness was my father. He was a photographer in Margate Kent. I can tell you more if you are interested. Especially interesting is he owned a huge collection of photos some of the ballet russe including Diagalev which he sold to the bbc in early 1960s. But he was also a fab portraitist of his 4 children and I have the most wonderful photo of my mother, their first born and the nappies on the line, only recently discovered. He took several of the conference photos including the Labour party and was distinctive for his use of an old wooden camera with glass slides with a black cloth over him. I have many memories - unfortunately as with all artistic people he was not good at managing his buisness.
