Working in various roles within the NHS for 50 years, Beasley began her professional career as a nurse before working in regional Health Authorities focusing on policy and organisational development. Between 2004 and 2012, Beasley was the Chief Nursing Officer at the Department of Health and since 2012 has been a Non-Executive director at the NHS Trust Development Authority. She established the London Standing Conference, engaging nurses across the city in leading service improvement and contributing to improvements in clinical practice nationwide.
