I have been doing a lot of research into Eirane. She was my great great grandmother's Nephew's wife. I have noticed a few errors. She was actually born in 1908 not 1912 and her father was James Naismith not John.
Eirane was also chauffeuse to Ramsay MacDonald who at the time was Prime Minister.

My name is Francis Goodall and Paddy Naysmith was my godmother and my father's cousin. She knew Baird and Amy Johnson, another female pioneer aviator. She was first across the white line in the first all female race at Brooklands. She lived with her brother and sister in Surbiton. She eventually emigrated with her brother to Goose bay in Canada. Her sister in Surbiton then became my godmother. Flying in those days was quite dangerous and my father, Baird and Amy Johnson went up in a plane and got lost in the fog. There were no navigation aids of course but eventually they were able to land safely.
