The New Monthly Belle Assemblée(1832-1869), Magazine
Artist associated with 7 portraits
The New Monthly Belle Assemblée (London) was 'a magazine of literature and fashion' published by Joseph Rogerson and later Rogerson and Tuxford. This appears to be a separate periodical from the original La Belle Assemblée of 1806, emerging when the first changed its name to The Court Magazine and Belle Assemblée. Its early plates were inferior copies of those from French magazines, often several months out of date, but from 1854 it began to import superior French plates by Héloise Leloir.
