Riz Ahmed

Riz Ahmed was born in Wembley to a British Pakistani family. He made his film debut in The Road to Guantánamo (2006) followed by Shifty (2008) before his breakthrough role in Nightcrawler (2014). In 2016, he appeared in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and that same year he starred in the mini-series The Night Of, winning an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor. He has recently appeared in the film The Sisters Brothers (2018). In 2017 Ahmed gave a speech at the House of Commons, highlighting the lack of diversity in the film and television industry and has been an outspoken critic of stereotypical presentations of Muslims.
