Actor, born Larushka Mischa Skikne in Lithuania. As a child he emigrated with his parents to South Africa and grew up in Johannesburg making his stage debut there and serving in the army. Moved to London in 1946 and made his film debut in 1948. During the 1950s and 1960s, he appeared in several major films, including Room at the Top (1959), Butterfield 8 (1960), The Alamo (1960), The Manchurian Candidate (1962) and Darling (1965).
