Belinda Lee

Born in Devon, Lee attended the Tudor Arts Academy in Hindhead, Surrey and RADA. Whilst appearing at Nottingham Playhouse was signed to the Rank Organisation making her film debut in The Runaway Bus (1954). Met Cornel Lucas who took publicity photographs for the film. They were married (1954-9) becoming, for the following three years the 'golden couple' of British film. Groomed for starlet parts as the new Diana Dors, her credits include Miracle in Soho and Dangerous Exile (both 1957). Lee was killed in a car crash in America aged just 26.
