Zoë Wanamaker

Born in New York and educated at the Central School for Speech and Drama in London, Wanamaker has appeared with both the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford and London and at the National Theatre. For her acclaimed role in Sophocles' Electra (1998), she won an Olivier Award. As a popular screen actress she appeared as Madame Hooch in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001) and on television in Love Hurts (1991-3) and My Family (2002-11). Wanamaker is Honorary President of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre.
