Jill Bennett
(1931-1990), Actress; fourth wife of John OsborneSitter in 9 portraits
Trained at RADA, began acting career at 18, in 1949, at Stratford's Shakespeare Memorial Theatre, joining Olivier's company the following year. Early films included Moulin Rouge (1952) and Lust for Life (1956). Married first to Willis Hall and then John Osborne who wrote her prize-winning role in Time Present (1968) and a memorable Hedda Gabler adaptation before their marriage ended in a bitter divorce.
