Caroline Charles

Caroline Charles is a fashion designer who studied at Swindon Art School (1958-60), before moving to London. She completed an apprenticeship at Michael Sherard's couture house, and worked with Mary Quant. After working with photographer Tony Rawlinson for a year, Charles founded her own firm in 1963. Her collections were an instant hit with stars including Cilla Black and Barbara Streisand. She was awarded an OBE in June 2002.
