Leonard George Green was born in Cirencester, Gloucestershire in 1883. In 1903 he was living at 7 Fair St, Cambridge and operating as a photographer. In 1909 he married Florence Jane Evelyn Bull 1881-1964 in Michigan and by 1911 they were living at 47 Church Rd, St Leonard’s on Sea, Sussex, they went on to have four boys Robert, Geoffrey, Ivor and Derek. By 1915 Leonard had taken a job at the Bachrach studio in New York. He opened his own studio in London in 1924 at 28 St George St specialising in society portraits.
