Samuel Franklin Cody(1867-1913), Aviator
Sitter in 7 portraits
Cody travelled to England from America in 1896. He became to England what the Wright brothers are to America when he completed the first powered sustained flight in Britain at Farnborough (1908). He flew a quarter of a mile in his large bi-plane which became known as 'The Flying Cathedral'. He was killed in a flying accident in 1913.
