Thriller writer; worked as a correspondent for Reuters and The Daily Mail in the Boer War before embarking on a writing career which ran to nearly 100 thrillers and detectives stories (1906-32). Series featuring 'Sanders of the River' and J. G. Reeder were particularly popular.
