Artist associated with 5 portraits
Killigrew was an amateur painter and poet who was well regarded in her lifetime, as the title of John Dryden's ode to her records: To the Pious Memory of the Accomplisht Young Lady, Mrs Anne Killigrew, Excellent in the Two Sister-arts of Poesie and Painting. Killigrew painted portraits, biblical, historical and mythological scenes, and landscapes, but only a handful of her pictures are known to have survived.
