Colin Henry Wilson(1931-2013), Writer
Sitter in 21 portraits
The 'angry young man' incarnate, the self-taught Wilson had emerged from working in a shoe factory to produce a bestseller, The Ousider (1956) at the age of 24. Alternating manual and intellectual work, he slept on Hampstead Heath, declaring it the most convenient open space for the British Museum Reading Room.
