This is my grandfather, a Methodist minister and he has signed the portrait with his usual signature. He met his first wife when he was the minister in one of Brighton’s Methodist churches and she was the church organist. We believe this likeness was taken a few months before she died when they returned to Brighton to visit her family around 1925/6.
