Rev. John Barton (c.1760-1803) was rector of Sonning and Chiddingford. His parents were Newton Barton and Elizabeth Ekins, sister of John Ekins, Dean of Salisbury. He was Fellow of New College, Oxford, chaplain of the House of Commons, and prebendary of Canterbury.
