William Drummond also painted portraits of Miss Craven and the Misses FitzWygram before February 1842, and of Frederica Emma, Lady Hunter, in 1842-3 (while at Brighton and associated with "Mason's shop"), according to Lady Hunter's diary held in the Westminster City Archive. Lady Hunter's second husband was the 5th Earl of Lanesborough. I've done research on this because my doctoral dissertation was based on Lady Hunter's diaries. I'd like to see Lady Hunter more recognized in the historical record, as well as raising awareness of musical life, in which she and her families were very involved, as a form of political discourse. I believe the Gallery has recently acquired a portrait of the same woman as the Countess of Lanesborough. It would be interesting to see if the NPG could acquire the Drummond portrait for comparison. I have not been able to find it, but it may well still be in private hands or have gone to auction with the dissolution of the Lanesborough earldom.
