Artist of 65 portraits
Studied at St Martin's School of Art, London. He began his photographic career as assistant for photographers including Richard Avedon and later as studio manager to Terence Donovan. As a freelance photographer, he worked for a variety of magazines, regularly shooting covers for The Sunday Times Magazine. He moved to Los Angeles in 1997 and spent ten years working for leading magazines before returning to London setting up a studio in Chelsea. As an official war artist he documented the war in Kosovo, and published a book in 2001. He collaborated with the Australian performance artist Leigh Bowery to produce Leigh Bowery Looks: Photographs 1988-1994 (2001).
