Writer and broadcaster. Began career as a freelance gardening journalist in 1988 and became a broadcaster on television in 1989, with presenting work on This Morning and Channel 4 programmes Real Gardens, Fork to Fork, Lost Gardens and Don Roaming. He became Gardening Editor for The Observer in 1994 for which he also writes a regular column. Publications include The Prickotty Bush (1990), The Weekend Gardener(1995), Urban Jungle (1998), Fork to Fork (1999) and The Complete Gardener (2003). After five years as the main presenter for BBC TV's Gardener's World between 2003 and 2008, Monty Don took up the role again in 2011.
