Pianist who, along with her classical repertoire, plays jazz and new music. Studied at New Hall, Cambridge and the Royal Academy of Music. Soloist with leading orchestras including the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. MacGregor has toured worldwide and premiered many landmark compositions in contemporary music working with, among others, Harrison Birtwistle and Pierre Boulez. She organised the Platform Festival of New Music at the ICA from 1991 until 1993 and has presented various BBC productions. From 1997 until 2000 she was Professor of Music at Gresham College, London.
