Karen Pickering

Pickering, Britain's most decorated female swimmer began swimming at world-class level in 1986 when she was first chosen to swim for Great Britain in the European Championships. She competed in all four Olympic games between 1992 and 2004. During her career she won four gold medals at the Commonwealth Games and another four at the World Championships. Awarded an MBE in 1994 for her services to swimming.
