Granville Davies(1944-), Photographer
Artist of 57 portraits
Although Granville Davies has photographed everything from microelectronic components to cheetahs chasing across the plains of East Africa, he returns again and again to portraiture. A sequence of his portraits of writers, including Tom Stoppard, Doris Lessing and Lawrence Durrell, was the subject of an exhibition at the Royal National Theatre. Many have been used to illustrate profiles and features in newspapers and magazines, and several are in the collection of the National Portrait Gallery.
