Canadian-born singer. She was the first 'out' lesbian in mainstream pop and also advanced the cause of vegetarianism through her support of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). Madonna remarked of her, 'Elvis is alive. And she's beautiful.' Lang achieved two Top Ten hits in Britain in 1992 with Constant Craving (May 1992) and Crying (August 1992), her duet with Roy Orbison.
