Meena Pathak

(1956-), Co-founder, Patak's Foods

Sitter in 1 portrait
Born in Mumbai, she attended a Catholic Convent school before choosing to study Food Technology. Upon graduating she worked for the prestigious Taj group. A beauty, she also took up modelling, leading to a film audition and offer for a part in a Bollywood movie. Her life changed dramatically when an arranged meeting with Kirit Pathak, an Indian businessman from England who was in Mumbai to source spices for his family business, led to a marriage proposal 48 hours later, Meena accepted. Moving to Northamptonshire she became a new driving force for Patak's Food. She is credited with the idea of creating cooking pastes and sauces that would enable people with little time or know-how to cook curries at home straight from a jar.
