Her death is referenced in Vol 3 of the Chips Channon diaries (16th October 1943). He says that ‘her body has been found in the river’. He ‘once toyed with the idea of marrying her’.

Lady Worthington was reported as 'Still Missing' in the Daily Sketch, Friday 8th October 1943. Scotland Yard detectives were combing the streets in the King's Cross and St. Pancras districts. She had been missing from her home at Olney, Bucks, since Tuesday. Her coat and scarf were found in the River Ouse, Bedfordshire on the Wednesday. No further information.
